Brent Sandy

Mr. Sandy is a creative music/lead trumpet player, composer and educator and is an adjunct associate professor on the jazz faculties of the University of Iowa and Grinnell College. Sandy has performed/recorded with numerous notables of the creative music world, including Paul Smoker, Kenny Wheeler, Bobby Shew, Steven Bernstein, Robert Dick, Billy Higgins, Matt Wilson, Walter Thompson, Anthony Cox, Carla Bley, Steve Swallow, Dick Oatts and Kim Richmond. Brent performs throughout the Midwest with creative music groups Equilateral, Anthony Cox and Shovel, The Grismore/Scea Group, Cerebrus Trio and the Xtet . He has also been featured in performance on NPR’s “Jazzset” on two different occasions. Brent is an Educational Clinician with the Conn/Selmer Company and a Conn “Vintage One” Flugelhorn Artist.
