Originally from Agency, Iowa, Bob came to the University of Iowa in 1977 as a saxophone performance major. Upon realizing the inherent worthlessness of an undergrad degree in saxophone performance, he promptly quit school and went on the road with an R&B band. He has played with a bunch of people, but aren't those long name-dropping bios boring as heck? In addition to Alto Maiz, Bob currently plays with Dennis McMurrin and the Demolition Band, Chris Merz's xTet, Daddy-O's Funky Posse, and pretty much whoever calls him up for a gig.

As webmaster and designer of this site, Bob has exhibited remarkable restraint in resisting the temptation to paste strange hairdos, snorkels, and funny hats into the photos of his "colleagues," or falsifying their biographical information.

Bob enjoys messing around with computers, goofing off, and climbing ladders with dangerous power tools.
